BEAUTIFUL and EXCITEMENT simultaneously.....

How does one never take art classes(other than in elementary school, once a week) and effortlessly slap this together with crayons. Oh, and he has never drawn with crayons! I guess there are lots of people in this world who are just naturally gifted. Because I am NOT, I have a hard time comprehending how that is done. Good job, Oscar!!!
While I was preparing this, I received a phone call @ 11pm from the city. All I heard from the pre-recorded messages was call 911 if you see anything..... So, of course, I used my caller ID(which,BTW, I have never liked) and called back to inquire if said phone call was specifically for me. Yes, it was. "There was an incident in your neighborhood, so lock all doors and windows and call 911 immediately if you see anything suspicious." 15 minutes later we received a phone call about the "incident." Car crashed down the street from us(in neighborhood), teens ran off, armed with guns!!!!! Over an hour later and still no suspects. From the looks of the hillside, no one will be getting much sleep tonight, lit up like a Christmas Tree!
I'm listening to the police scanner and these "kids" have a rap sheet. I wonder if this means they are not afraid to hurt anyone. Oh, wait, "TRACKS!!!" THEY FOUND TRACKS! Bringing in the doggies! Go, Dog, Go!!!!

more on Sherman....

yup- here i go again. posting about the dog and nothing about the humans. Still working on my priorities! Too busy to post about the dog but as anyone can imagine not a whole lot changed with his house manners, other than he was kept in the hallway, on the tile floor, alot more this weekend. Oscar and Snort were up for the weekend and boy was it nice. we did a lot of laughing. Snort and i talked to 2:30am. I love chatting with Snort. She is an amazing young lady and I am blessed to have her in my life. She brings so much joy and balance into Oscar's life. Friends brought their dog down to meet and visit Sherman. He was very very protective of his home and family. He wouldnt stop woofing but eventually he calmed down, once he knew we were all ok with the invader :) I'm very happy to see how protective he is of us. He is only 8 weeks old and very loyal to his humans. Hopefully we made a wise choice in choosing the right dog for our family. He is very good at knowing the humans are above him, won't walk through a door until we have. Now if he would just learn to woof when he has to go potty!

I didn't take the dog out once today!!!! yippee! The Princes has been sooo good to take him out whenever needed. she hasn't moaned or groaned once. Still lots of piddling but we, the humans, have smartened up. Sherman is now confined to the garage hallway until further notice. He sits, waits til the humans go through the doorway(shows he accepts us humans as the leader of his pack), fetches most of the time BUT wont go to the stinkin door to tell us it's potty time. I don't get it. Arghhhh....hoping to get some pics up of our day in the life of Sherman the WWII Tank :)

BTW- the original breeder that I really wanted to get a dog from wouldn't lower his price last week. Today I received an email from him saying he would take my offer. It would have been better for all of us had he accepted my offer last week. Oh well....
11/26/11 bringing Sherman home

Day 1 watching Grinch

YUP- that would be a toilet brush-Gross!!

life with the newest member of the fam....

Papa and I must be crazy OR perhaps we are getting old and mushy. We got another dog. BUT not just any ole dog. We agreed to the biggest mass of a dog there is- AN ENGLISH MASTIFF. Here is a recap of our 5 days with the pups-thus far.
Day 1-Sunday 11/27/11, midnight,-Sherman arrives home, Opua NOT happy she has to share the family attentions with this THING, awake til 3 am with the brute, WE, HUMANS, have discovered that he was NOT taught ANY house manners, can find a sock anytime, anywhere(maybe he will find the sock monster's hiding place), WE HUMANS also discovered that he has a shoe fetish, loves to walk by the plant and pull of a leaf or two off the already wilting branch and loves the netting so beautifully wrapped around the chairs, ran out of dog food from breeder, numerous outside trips for shi-shi/doodoo as well as numerous house clean ups-good thing there is lots of hard wood floor space
Day 2-Monday 11/28/11, Papa Bear leaves for a business trip @ 4:15 am; 4:45 am- cleaning shi-shi AND doodoo from the cage and the pups AND his bedding, 5am-standing outside in the cool(FREEZING) morning breeze while pups decides how to do his business, OUTSIDE! while Opua decides to come for a showing(more like taunting) of Sherman doing his business, play time for Sherman, shi-shi/doodoo break, getting kids ready for their school day, play time for Sherman, shi-shi/doodoo break, "No Sherman, chew on your toy", tubbies for Sherman w/a shower hose that bathes everything BUT the subject intended while Sherman decides he does NOT like being in the tubbies with that shower hose thing spewing water at him, shi-shi/doodoo break, play time for Sherman, "No Sherman, chew on your toy", make vet appointment, visit 2 stores who claim to carry the dog food that breeder has given to pups, shi-shi/doodoo break, play time for Sherman, "No Sherman, chew on your toy", PetSmart has become our new favorite store-AGAIN, finally find crappy dog food, vet visit, shi-shi/doodoo break, play time for Sherman, "No Sherman, chew on your toy", shi-shi/doodoo break, PHEW-Sherman is in bed. Oh, and did I mention all the house clean-ups and 15 minute interval potty breaks we had through out the day AND Opua constantly running in the house to play(taunt) with the newest family member. Entire day is ALL about Sherman, the naughty, happy, chewy, English Mastiff puppy, that we now call our own. Forgot to also mention how much the Princess has taken on dog responsibilities.
Day 3-Tuesday 11/29/11-Papa Bear still gone(he is now missing out on so much excitement he CANT wait to get home and have pup duty for the next 6 days),6am outside in the cool(FREEZING) morning mountain breeze while Sherman decides he does NOT like doing his business outside in the cool(FREEZING), morning, mountain breeze, Opua right there with us helping(taunting) Sherman along, more clean ups in all aisles of the house-GROSS, more play time with Sherman, "No, Sherman, chew on your toy", the naughty, happy, chewy, Mastiff, puppy who has now discovered toilet paper is easy to carry around and is OH SO SOFT AND CHEWY, has discovered the toilet brush feels good on his puppy teething jaws, "No, Sherman, chew on your toy", the bathroom rug is also another favorite chewy toy, Sherman has a love affair with things of the bathroom-hhmmmm, still loves socks and can pick them out of any line up- EVERY-SINGLE-TIME, "No, Sherman, chew on your toy," all of the above excitement BUT its now getting really, really old and I am too old for all this excitement, plus I have too many other things to do. He's still cute though
Day 4-Wednesday 11/30/11-Papa Bear gets to experience early morning pup duty and he LOVES it ;), all of the above happenings-like I said before, the previous owners did NOT train pups to have good house manners, clean, dry cage this morning-YAY!, Sherman is now becoming more courageous and has gone down the stairs twice, unassisted-probably to "christen" the rest of the house, hallway bench has now become a favorite chew "toy" along with the toilet brush, "No, Sherman, chew on your ball", toilet brush is still the go to chew toy, when he has the opportunity, nothing else has changed other than to say Sherman is finding more favorites in the house. He is also, most definitely, a "pidd-ler."(is that even a word-oh well, those of you who have a dog, KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THAT MEANS! :) Sherman is NOT so cute today!
Day 5-Thursday 12/1/11-Papa Bear is my hero. Took pups out early, early, early, then slept on the chair so pups would not be lonely- he is such a softy. ALL OF THE ABOVE HAPPENINGS! Papa is relieved of his duties for a few short hours while he recovers from a minor procedure on his foot. Same ole, same ole.....
Day 6-Friday 12/2/11-Papa Bear is still my hero! Took pups out @ 1am, 4:30am, 6am, 6:30am while standing outside in the cool(BELOW FREEZING), morning, mountain, breeze(BLUSTERY, WINDY) AND slept on the chair so he wouldn't wake me, only one piddle so far this morning-but it is, after all, ONLY 10am
